LAUNCESTON area primary schools recently took part in two cross country races at Warbstow.
Competitors from eight local primary schools participated in the annual Launceston Area Primary Schools cross country event hosted by Warbstow CP School on Thursday, May 7.
There were four races, with each school entering teams of four children. The event was very competitive and it was good to see such a high standard of long distance runners in the Launceston area.
All the teams were congratulated and thanks were expressed to all the supporters and parents who helped to make the event such a success.

Year 3/4 girls — 1, Warbstow A; 2, Altarnun; 3, Lewannick; 4, Warbstow B; 5, Coads Green.
Year 3/4 boys — 1, Warbstow A; 2, St Stephens; 3, Lewannick; 4, Altarnun; 5, Coads Green.
Year 5/6 girls — 1, Coads Green; 2, Warbstow A; 3, Launceston County Primary; 4, Tregadillett; 5, Lewannick.
Year 5/6 boys — 1, Coads Green; 2, St Stephens; 3, Trekenner; 4, Launceston County Primary; 5, Warbstow A.
On Tuesday, April 28, approximately 150 children, aged between four and eleven joined in the excitement at Warbstow, and ran up and down hills, past sheep and even through a stream as part of the cross country race.
The entire school at Warbstow took part as well as children from Lewannick, North Petherwin, Tregadillett and Otterham. All participants received a certificate and the fastest three in each race received a medal.
