This year, Launceston Area Art Group (LAAG) celebrates its 30th anniversary with its annual summer exhibition at St Mary's Church in Launceston. LAAG was founded in 1980 when several artists, including Rosalie Raymont, who is still a member, and Charles Phyllis Robbins (whose daughter Anthea is the current chairman), started an art group to fulfill a need in the Launceston area. The group's 20 local artists paint in a variety of styles and mediums and gain inspiration from the local landscape.
