AN update on the Ruby Way Cycle Path connecting Holsworthy to Hatherleigh was expected to be given at last night's (Wednesday) Holsworthy Town Council meeting.
Graham Cornish, project manager from Devon County Council, planned to update councillors following concerns about funding for the £500,000 project.
The Ruby Way, when finished, will be the longest traffic-free walking/cycling/horse-riding route in the UK, and it is hoped it will ultimately link with the Tarka Trail at its eastern end and to Bude on the coast in the west.
Developments to continue the path over Coles Mill Viaduct were unsuccessful after an application for Heritage Lottery Funding was turned down, but the majority of the path was now up and running.
