STAFF from Sir James Smith's Community School in Camelford congratulated the last batch of A Level students last Thursday, as the school's Sixth Form has now closed.
Jon Lawrence, headteacher, said: "Sir James Smith's is very proud to have provided the first step in the career path of many young professionals from North Cornwall over the years. We have been very proud of the achievements of students in previous years and this is true of the 2009 cohort.
"The students have worked very hard to achieve their results and we are pleased with their individual achievements which will see places to read Engineering, Veterinary Science, Education, and Fashion Design amongst others at university and a variety of other career choices including the Royal Marines."
There was a 100 per cent pass rate (grades A-E) in 16 out of 18 subjects which Mr Lawrence said was a considerable achievement for a non-selective Sixth Form.
"Results in several subjects were very pleasing indeed with three subjects achieving 100 per cent success at A grade! With 25 per cent of the students achieving four or more A level passes and 50 per cent getting three or more A level passes most students have done well."
He added: "The governors, staff and current students at Sir Jim's wish all our ex-students the very best and we look forward to reading of their future successes."
