THE last film to be shown before the Launceston Town Hall closes for the £1million refurbishment will be today (Friday, January 15).

The film is called Looking For Eric and starts at 7.30pm for 8pm with a certificate 15, adult tickets are £4.

Eric works as a British postie, he's a Manchester United supporter through and through and for him, that's the only thing in life he really gets enjoyment from. His mates do the best to keep his head together but despite their efforts Eric is falling further and further away from the person he was and that's not even mentioning the cement mixer in the garden.

On one particular night, Eric decides he's going to turn to smoking weed in order to clear his mind of all the stresses currently looming over him. It takes that and the help of a very unlikely friend to help Eric gain some clarity in his life.

A film by Ken Loach starring Steve Evets, Gerard Kearns, Stephanie Bishop, John Henshaw and Eric Cantona.
