ON Tuesday evening there was an extraordinary meeting of Holsworthy Town Council to discuss the proposed housing and recreation development on Holsworthy's former show field.

Catesby Property Group of Stratford-upon-Avon have submitted a planning application for a residential

development on the site, including affordable housing, a sports pitch, changing rooms, a skate park as well as new access and landscaping.

Today (Thursday) is officially the last day for residents to comment on the plans which can be viewed at the Town Council office, (4, The Square) from 10am to 1pm. The public may submit comments on the plans by the end of the day, quoting Reference TDC 1//0606/2009OUTM.

Plans for a £90-million housing development by the same developer at Stratton were rejected by Cornwall Council's strategic planning committee last week.
