THE largest gathering of Renault agriculture tractors in England will be hosted by Bradworthy and District Ploughing Association at their annual ploughing match on Saturday, October 8, at Newton St Petrock near Holsworthy.
Continuing the heritage of these tractors, latter Claas machines will also be present with new machines displayed and demonstrated by local dealer Hamblys Ltd. A variety of Claas harvesting machines will also be displayed.
Celebrating the diamond brand, the organisers will be showing off all Renault products from cars to commercial vehicles and are delighted to welcome the Renault Owners Club of Great Britain and brought up to date by County Renault, North Devon’s local franchised dealer.
There is an emphasis on working machines, tractors doing what they are intended to do as well as a selection of static tractors and implements on display.
All of the exhibits will take part in a parade in the afternoon, with guest speakers sharing their knowledge, expertise and memories.
In addition to the special theme, the traditional ploughing match boasts a display of working tractors from many different manufacturers of all ages, their drivers demonstrating their fine skill and patience in creating spectacular work.
Novice ploughmen are welcome, and there are special prizes for local YFC members.
The farm produce show now encompasses garden vegetables, eggs, photographs and dedicated classes for children.
There are also several demonstrations of new tractors and ploughs by local traders, looking to show off their latest products to potential customers.
The event is being held at Down Farm, Newton St Petrock, just off of the A388, by kind permission of Steve Bond.
If you want to find out more about the event, keep up to date with the latest news or download an entry form, visit the event page on Facebook at ‘Bradworthy & District Ploughing Match 2016, Renault and Claas Themed’.
Organisers are keen to hear from anyone owning or operating a Renault tractor, car, commercial, coach and Claas tractors and machinery. There are special prizes on the day for exhibitors, especially those ploughing.
A spokesman said: “We encourage every machine, regardless of condition or age to come along and join in the fun!”
