‘WHAT a night’ — said one delighted carnival secretary following the success of Saturday night’s Camelford Carnival.
The weather managed to hold off for a dry evening for the carnival procession, and large crowds gathered in the town to watch the procession. They would certainly not have been disappointed with the highest standard of floats ever. Eleven visiting queens made it all worthwhile.
The crowd were greeted with this year’s Camelford royalty float, which was a blaze of colour and looked spectacular with the carriage decorated in a wonderful array of lights. Souls Harbour yet again came up with a magnificent float with their Bugs Alive, and Camelford YFC did a fantastic rendition of The Greatest Showman. All added up to a great evening of fun and enjoyment.
Carnival secretary, Marney Baker, said: “I would like to thank the town, the local businesses and all the committee members for all their hard work and the support received in making this year’s carnival such a great success for the town, and, of course, not forgetting all the people that came out to give us their support. Without all this, the town would not be able to put on a carnival.”
