A WEEK St Mary lady is using her skills as a seamstress and knitter to help less fortunate people living overseas.

For many years Nora Jewell has made brightly coloured bedspreads and baby wear which has been sent abroad to help needy countries. In particular, items have been made for Rotary District 1290's Overseas Project Team which provides aid to various parts of the world including The Republic of Kosova which is struggling to re-build after the disastrous conflict in 1998 and 1999.

The items provided by Mrs Jewell are delivered to the family medical centre in Gjakova where the need is particularly significant. Dr Hektor Binishi, director of the centre, and his wife Violetta, a gynaecologist, are delighted with Mrs Jewell's support.
