A CHARITY coffee morning to raise funds for the Merlin Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre was held at St Teath Community Centre on Saturday.

The event, organised by the ladies of St Teath Women's Institute, raised £147 for the centre.

For the past three years, the ladies have sung carols around the village at Christmas time, but last Christmas however, the weather was so bad on the night planned, the event had to be abandoned.

As well as the traditionally well-stocked cake stall, a bring-and-buy, raffle and tombola stalls completed the money raisers.

If any readers of the Post area are in the St Austell area, the staff at the Merlin Centre would be delighted to give a guided tour of the facilities.

The Merlin MS Centre, based at Hewaswater near St Austell, is an independent Cornish charity for people whose lives are affected by Multiple Sclerosis, a progressive neurological condition that affects the central nervous system and for which there is currently no cure.

The centre has now been operating for over four years providing a variety of therapies, information and support for people living with the condition.
