KING Arthur has returned from Avalon to carry the torch for North Cornwall.
The Arthurian Centre at Slaughterbridge in North Cornwall is celebrating the arrival of the Olympic Torch this week.
The statue of King Arthur was commissioned in 2011 and created by Terry English, Hollywood armourer! (Excalibur, King Arthur, Aliens etc).
King Arthur normally brandishes a sword but has now taken up the Olympic Torch as the actual torch touched down in Cornwall on Friday.
The Arthurian Centre is based on the site originally identified as Camlann, King Arthur's last battle. Here he received his mortal wound and then carried to Avalon where he was nursed and rests waiting to return when the British need him.
