Easter Sunday Special — The now traditional Easter Sunday Chocolate Egg competition at Bude & North North Golf Club got underway under spring like weather with wall to wall sunshine, writes Barry Sykes.

Four more teams than last year played in a 3 BBB format with a slight variation. All three scores on the first six holes, two scores on the mid six holes and one score on the last six holes. As a further twist the drawn partners were from high, medium and low handicap categories.

Top team of the day with an amazing total of 90 points were Charlotte Britton, Ryan Willshire and Club vice- captain Mark Jenkins. Only one two was returned on the day with Club President Alan Pearce bagging two for himself on the 10th. and 13th. As it was Jean and Alan's 40th. wedding anniversary was this his way of buying Jean a pressy?

Two happenings on the day which have to be reported were: On the burn side of the tenth men's tee Keith Smith let his trolley wander over the edge and into the burn – a drop of approx 30 feet in old money. The main casualty of this excursion was the driver which with the full weight of the trolley on top of it split into two. The second happening on this sunny day was a two putt from 20 mm by Club competition secretary Barry Sykes.

90 Charlotte Britton, Ryan Willshire & Mark Jenkins; 85 Adam Curtis, Simon Thomas & Paul Walton; 83 Judith Smith, Phil Davis & John Vanstone; 83 Muriel Giles, Jim Ryan & Kevin Dunster; 83 Jack Wellington, Pete Cracknell & David Patrick

At the presentation the Club Captain Cliff Surgeoner thanked all those for entering the day and making it such a success.
