A GROUP of young kayakers have completed a course with support from the community-run Camelford Leisure Centre and the Cornwall Community Fund.

The course consisted of a five-week training session in the swimming pool at the leisure centre.

The British Canoe Union 'Paddle Power' skills were passed on to the young kayakers to enable them to test their new-found skills on Bude Canal.

They were said to have thoroughly enjoyed the experience, despite the biting wind and cold water, and are hoping to be able to maintain their abilities by continuing to kayak with the leisure centre team.
