THE school council of Bude Junior School has been extremely busy recently.
The council reps presented their Sport Relief ideas on behalf of their classes.
The Year 6 reps then chose a whole week of activities, with the specific aim of raising money to buy mosquito nets.
There was a Staff v Pupils netball game, a council cafe hot dog sale, breaktime performances by the school dance club, a non-school uniform day, an extended Sport Relief assembly with staff bake off, a cake sale, PTA Sport Relief bingo, teachers getting water bombed and an upcoming Bags 2 School collection.
This was an immense effort by the whole school community and well over the target of £1,000 was raised — the equivalent of 200 mosquito nets!
Thanks have been extended to all those who supported the events as well as Morrisons and Sainsbury’s for their invaluable catering donations.
