LAUNCESTON Memory Cafe is always on a winner when it invites Johnny Cowling to supply the entertainment.
Friday was no exception, when 'an evening with Johnny Cowling' passed in a flash as he told many uproariously funny stories, cracked dozens of gags — complete with hilarious gestures — and sang several songs, often with the help of the audience.
About 175 people turned out to pack the hall at the Eagle House Hotel and many became an essential part of the humour — all taken in good spirit.
The event raised £1,255 with all the proceeds going to the Launceston Memory Cafe.
On behalf of the Memory Cafe, Cym Dowing thanked everyone who helped, attended and supported the evening and the bumper draw, Johnny himself and the Eagle House and its staff.
