A PARENT from Week St Mary has expressed her concern after her son was hospitalised following a severe asthma attack when he was sent home from school in wet clothes.
Jossie Solheim who lives in Week St Mary with her husband and five-year-old son Kye, said she was "mortified" when her son was sent home on Friday, September 23 from Jacobstow Primary School, with wet clothes on.
"He got off of the bus and his jumper was soaking," she said.
Jossie explained that the school was made aware of his asthma condition when he first started at the beginning of this term. She had stated that the risk of him catching a cold should be minimised as much as possible.
"He has had attacks since he was little and he had to be careful of not getting a cold."
Following the incident, Kye contracted a cold and as the weekend progressed his breathing worsened.
