THE fundraising efforts of a four-year-old have been recognised by Prime Minister David Cameron.
Izzy Russell, from Fowey, has become the youngest recipient of the Prime Minister's Points of Light Award, which recognises outstanding individual volunteers.
Izzy has raised money for the Fowey RNLI station, where her dad Adam is a lifeboat crewman and her mum, Jodie Keeler, volunteers in the shop.
Izzy made and sold 100 loom bands for £1 each last summer. Since then she has also gone out collecting donations and has sold badges to raise £360.
Mr Cameron said: 'Izzy has made supporting Fowey RNLI a real family affair. Her enthusiasm for fundraising at such a young age is truly impressive. I know she has more fundraising ideas planned and I wish her all the best in continuing to support a cause so close to her heart.'
Izzy said: 'I'm excited to get a certificate: l don't have a certificate yet and it can go on my wall with all my preschool stickers!'
Jodie said: 'I'm so proud of Izzy and what she does. Her dedication for this charity at such a young age is just outstanding. She's my superstar!'
