CORNWALL Council owned beach huts located in Bude are to benefit from £1-million worth of investment.

Liberal Democrat Cornwall Councillors for Bude David Parsons and Nigel Pearce have been working with the county authority regarding developments, and are delighted with the commitment.

Cllr Parsons said: "This is good news — we want to improve the quality of beach huts and build more of them to reduce the waiting list, and to make them look really good and a credit to the area."

Last year Cornwall Council consulted users following the councillors' campaign for improvements to the area.

Cllr Pearce added: "I am looking forward to this million pound investment over the next couple of years.

"The new huts will be much better for everyone — they will need fewer repairs, and really improve both of our beaches."
