BUDE-Stratton Town Council will elect a new mayor next week, following the immediate resignation of Cllr Paula Dolphin, writes Luke Smith.
She announced on New Year's Day that she is leaving the town council, citing the increased demand her position as a Cornwall Councillor is placing upon her.
Cllr Dolphin, who has been mayor since May 2012, wished her replacement all the best in the role.
She said: "It has been nine years since I joined Bude-Stratton Town Council. I have seen many councillors come and go; I had many good discussions, differences of opinions, and decisions have always been achieved democratically."
