Children at Golden Manor Nursery have been embracing the great outdoors this June after the arrival of a new handmade bug hotel in the nursery gardens.

The new educational development which has recently been unveiled to the children was built as an educational tool set in a natural environment.

The 'bug hotel' which was made with unwanted recyclable materials such as wooden crates and turf is specifically for the children to learn about insects and to understand how to look after living creatures.

Golden Manor nursery's childcare practitioner, Emma Taylor who constructed the bug hotel comments: "It's been a delight to witness how much enjoyment the children have had with the bug hotel, they have gained an understanding of what a bug's life really is!"

The award-winning nursery which opened in 2007 is set in 2.2 acres and is surrounded with natural woodland which is utilised daily as part of the educational and development programme.

Ruth Morgan, managing director of Golden Manor commented: "Our new bug hotel has already been a big hit with the children here at Golden Manor. The new structure has contributed a great deal to our forest school curriculum. At the nursery, we believe that sustainability and the environment is an important part of learning and development."

Golden Manor Nursery boasts a range of facilities including a sensory playroom, party room and an ABC room. For more information, visit their website at http://www.goldemanorenursery.com">www.goldemanorenursery.com
