ABOUT 30 people went to a free demonstration in St Breward Church by Val Blewett, from Camelford, recently and were inspired by her ideas for creating Christmas decorations using natural materials.
She showed visitors how to make Christmas trees with a broom stick in a pot arranged with contorted hazel and another using twigs.
Stars were produced, a wreath made with curled bark, one with dried leaves threaded on wire and some simply constructed of clematis strands wound round and round.
The questions flowing to and fro made it clear that many would try out some of the ideas at home.
The session was followed by refreshments.
