THE news that Holsworthy has been waiting for — the inpatient beds are to reopen at Holsworthy Community Hospital.
The beds were temporarily closed in March 2017 and it has been a long fought battle over the past 12 months to see them reopen, but finally the good news was announced on Thursday, April 19, at a public meeting chaired by Holsworthy Town Council and attended by representatives of the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
The CCG has formally requested the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust works to reopen the beds as soon as it is safe to do so.
At this time the beds remain temporarily closed but other services at the hospital remain operational.
