THE Inner Wheel of Camelford, welcomed Judy Pride, who gave an interesting talk about Children's Hospice South West. She was delighted to receive a cheque for £900 from Inner Wheel president Shirley Flanders. This has been Shirley's main chosen charity for her year 2013-2014. Funds were raised through a soup and sweet lunch, a game evening, coffee morning and a cream tea in June. An ongoing fundraising project for 'Wheels', supported by all Inner Wheel Club members, provided £100 towards the cost of the Camelford Community Bus. Fifty-nine pounds was collected for the Mission Aviation Fellowship — a small aircraft is on call for emergencies in remote parts of the globe and is run by volunteers. Before the close of the meeting, the chain of office was passed from Shirley to the new president for 2014-2015, Mary Dyer. For the full report, and a round-up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
