The Post is doing some research on an inspirational woman, hailing from Boscastle. Marjorie Ashbery was once a teacher at Sir James Smith’s School in Camelford and lived at Welltown Manor in Boscastle, before moving away.

However, a significant part of her life has been difficult to research — Marjorie was part of the Friends Relief Service with the Red Cross during the relief of the Belsen concentration camp, Germany, in 1945.

We want to give Marjorie recognition for the work she carried out in her younger years during a huge event in world history. If anyone has any information about this, has a fond memory of Marjorie or even a photograph, and would like to discuss it with us, please email [email protected] or call 01566 778212.
