WORKS to improve the tracks at the Holsworthy and Stratton Showground have been taking place recently at the site near Kilatree.
New stone tracks are being put in place at all of the main arteries, therefore replacing the previous wood chippings and grass tracks, which had become difficult to work with in bad weather conditions.
The improvements are being funded from the profits made from previous Holsworthy and Stratton Shows and will be completed in time for this year's show.
This year's show chairman John Vanstone commented on the developments: "We are putting in the new stone tracks for this year and looking into re-seeding the damaged areas. For the last three years we were lucky to get away with the bad weather, but these new tracks are all hard standing which will make life a lot easier and improve getting around.
"The site is our own site, which is an asset to the developments. If it wasn't for the committee it wouldn't happen, it is being done from a lot of hard work from the committee and I am looking forward to this year's show."
