BELOW is a copy of a letter sent to Derriford Hospital.

I awoke at 6.30am on June 3 with terrible pain in my chest, then down my left arm. My husband rang 999 and within five minutes of coming off the phone, the ambulance and medics had arrived. They were so efficient and kind to me.

In no time at all they had me in the ambulance and were working on me as I was having a heart attack. Next thing the ambulance helicopter arrived and landed in the field next to my bungalow. The doctor came into the ambulance and gave me more treatment.

After being in contact with Derriford Hospital they transferred me to the helicopter and we were at Derriford Hospital in 10 minutes. The hospital staff were waiting for us as we landed. I was rushed into the hospital and the doctors and staff attended to me straight away. They were so efficient.

My husband and I cannot thank them enough for their care and kindness I received in the hospital. The NHS are often discredited for some reason but I will be forever in their debt. Thank you all for your kindness and efficient action. If I had been a millionaire I could not have received better treatment.

God bless you all and continue to do the wonderful jobs you all do and being there when you are needed.
