I HAVE recently had a distressing experience, which began with my father-in-law's funeral which we were attending in Bude on Friday, June 19.
We spent the weekend trying to sort things out. Anyway my husband and brother-in-law had to go to the solicitors on Monday afternoon, so his wife and I thought we might like to go to this really good toy shop in Kilkhampton.
We parked the car and walked to the shop to find it was closed for their summer holiday so we went up to the kitchen shop, which is where I experienced the horror that was waiting for me.
It was there that I saw a dog in such an emaciated state in the front seat of a white van which was parked outside the pizza shop on the main road. I was so upset I did not know what to do. Who do you ring when there is no way of knowing a phone number?
In this day and age, what response would you get for trying to open a car door, so I did nothing and I have regretted it ever since. What I'm asking is can the people of Cornwall keep a look out and do something should they see this poor neglected dog, which must be going through hell.
