THE family of a woman who died following a two-vehicle collision between Bodmin and Camelford on Friday, January 19, have paid tribute to a ‘kind and thoughtful’ woman.
Gemma Sleeman, 34, from Bodmin, was one of two people who died after a collision on the B3266 between Bodmin and Camelford.
Gemma’s husband, Matthew, has paid the following tribute: “I can’t express in words the devastation, shock and disbelief I feel with the sudden loss of my amazing, beautiful wife Gemma.
“She was so kind and thoughtful, always putting the needs of others first which was reflected in her work as a residential care worker for children with complex needs.
“Gemma will be missed not only as my wife and soulmate, but as a much loved daughter, sister, auntie, niece and loyal friend.”
Emergency services were called around 12.10pm on January 19 after a collision between a silver Skoda Fabia and a blue Citroen Xsara Picasso on the B3266.
Gemma, who was driving the Skoda, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Citroen, a 30-year-old man from St Austell, suffered multiple serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital. He died of his injuries in hospital on January 24.
Two other women, both passengers in the Citroen, were also injured in the collision and were taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers are asking witnesses with information, especially if they were in the area before or during the incident, to contact them on 101 or email [email protected] quoting log number 288 for January 19.
