HUNDREDS of walkers took part in the Ruby Country Nightwalk on Saturday, May 11 at Tamar Lakes.

It was the first time that Nightwalk had offered routes at the scenic lakeside location near Holsworthy and Bude. Nightwalk is a ladies-only sponsored walk which raises funds for North Devon Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support.

More than 350 women took part as they completed either a three mile of six mile moonlit walk around Tamar Lakes, in the heart of Ruby Country, near Kilkhampton.

Gerard Fawcitt, from North Devon Hospice's fundraising team, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have brought Nightwalk to the west Devon and Cornwall border area, and the local ladies have really embraced the event by coming along in their hundreds."
