TICKETS for the 'Post' Charity Gala at Penstowe, Kilkhampton on Friday, February 15, are selling like 'hot cakes', with the outlets reporting very few tickets left (about 80 in all).
Alongside the Fisherman's Friends from Port Isaac and the mystic magic from Mr Eerius, the hostess for the evening will be Tracy Wilson who is a lecturer and broadcaster and an independent garden adviser for Radio Cornwall.
Tracy has been connected with horticulture for over 30 years and for most of that time worked for the Duchy of Cornwall. She received the MBE in 2006 for services to horticulture and has exhibited at the Chelsea Flower Show and Hampton Court as well as at all the key local shows.
She also has a serious addiction for cats, currently having six, a passion for sci-fi novels from her father and loves baking.
During the evening there will be the usual mammoth raffle. Prizes for this will be gratefully received at the offices of The Cornish and Devon Post or at The Candy Shop in Bude. In addition to this, there will be a cheque presentation to a representative of the Children's Hospice South West from monies raised at last year's gala.
