MAYOR of Bude-Stratton Frank Partridge said he was 'disappointed' at the lack of councillors in attendance at the towns' Remembrance ceremonies in November.

While there is no policy in place enforcing councillors' presence, Cllr Partridge said he felt there was a responsibility, as part of their civic duties, to attend events held at Stratton War Memorial, the Strand and Bude Central Methodist Church.

He said: "I'm disappointed at the turnout from a number of councillors. Some may have had good reasons, but I've been going for 14 years and we used to fill the front two pews in the church."
