HOLSWORTHY Town Council is due to receive the second half of money, which will be put towards further refurbishment of the town park, in the next few weeks.

Under section 106 agreements between Torridge District Council and Redrow —the developers of the Clifton Heights residential site on the edge of Holsworthy —Redrow had to pay £100,000-plus any interest or indexation accrued, which is ring-fenced for recreation, and which the town council will use for refurbishing Stanhope Park further.

The town council had already received the first payment of half the funds.

The timing of the payments is tied to the number of houses completed at the Clifton Heights development.

Town clerk Vanessa Saunders said at a meeting of the town council last week: "Torridge District Council has received a cheque from Redrow for £58,255.

"This will be paid from Torridge District Council to Holsworthy Town Council in the next couple of weeks."
