THE helpers at Holsworthy Foodbank have been overwhelmed by the generosity of local people and schools throughout the recent harvest thanksgiving period.
It is a sad reality that the Foodbank is needed by so many in this area, but the volunteers are humbled by the gifts that arrive without fail at the Carroll Suite in the Memorial Hall to keep up supplies.
All the local chapels and churches bring along bags of goodies, which have to weighed in, marked with their 'best before' date and put into their correct slot.
Spokesperson Gill Johns said: "A huge thank you must also go to our anonymous donor who raided Waitrose and asked them to bring up all the purchases in a Waitrose van."
