SINCE June when Holsworthy Pop-in Centre, run by Christians Together, was opened, many people have been welcomed and enjoyed a cup of tea on a Thursday afternoon at the summer house in Badock Gardens, writes Christine Williams, our Holsworthy correspondent.

Recently Holsworthy Town Council asked those who run the centre to vacate the premises and remove the tables and chairs they installed specially for it — so they are now looking for a new home.

Sheila Granger said: "We now desperately need suitable new premises but we would also like to combine the Pop-in Centre with a food bank.

Food banks have been in the news lately, particularly in areas where there have been factory closures and job losses.
