IT WAS revealed at the Holsworthy Town Council meeting held on Wednesday, March 3, that Brian Harris would be leaving his position on Holsworthy Town Council.
The Mayor, Cllr Elizabeth Squire reported the "sad news" in her mayor's announcements that she had received a letter from Mr Harris before the council meeting, explaining that he had resigned from the town council with immediate effect.
Cllr Squire said that there was no reason given in the letter.
Cllr David Smith said Torridge would have to be notified and the legal
procedures would have to be carried out.
After the news of the resignation of Brian Harris from Holsworthy Town Council, it was also revealed that Cllr Richard Kennedy would be standing down from the Holsworthy Town Council planning committee.
Therefore, with just two members on the planning committee — Cllr Mary Barfett and Cllr Louis Latty — it was decided that the planning committee meetings would take place at the council's full monthly meetings.
Cllr Squire said: "We will give it a try for a
couple of months."
It was explained that any presentations that would normally take place at the planning meetings would be given at the full council meetings.
