HOLSWORTHY will be without doctor cover on Sundays from July 1, because Devon Doctors have decided to stop holding their Sunday treatment centres.
Devon Doctors provide out-of-hours doctor cover for the Holsworthy area. Currently, on Saturday and Sunday mornings they hold treatment centres at Holsworthy Hospital for which patients can ring and make an appointment to see a doctor.
However, as from July1 Devon Doctors will no longer be holding the treatment centres on Sundays, meaning Holsworthy will be without any doctor cover on that day.
Patients who need to see a doctor on a Sunday will have to travel to Okehampton or Bideford.
Jane Wells, practice manager at Holsworthy Medical Centre said: "We're concerned about the cover that our patients will receive having to drive to Bideford or Okehampton."
The 'Post' was still awaiting a comment from Devon Doctors as they went to press.
