HOLSWORTHY was awash with volunteers and town councillors in high visibility jackets on Sunday, March 24 wiping down street signs and bollards as part of the 'Tidy Town Initiative'.

Bundled into warm clothes and hiding under waterproof coats, the small army took up brooms and mops and charged to the far corners of the town, to battle with all the grime and built up dirt they could find.

A successful day of spring cleaning, elbow grease and soap bubbles has whitened signs and brightened the town in time for the beginning of the tourist season.
