1st Holsworthy Scout Group celebrates 50 years of continuous Scouting this year, and one of the events held was a birthday party for all its members and their families.
Events on the day included a coconut shy, badge making, assault course, bouncy castle and much more. Visitors included the Portreeve, Mr Russell Dymond (who himself used to be a cub), past group Scout Leaders Pat and David Smith and representatives from Torridge District Scouts.
Holsworthy Lions provided a barbecue, and the day was completed with a camp fire ceremony in the evening. Around 120 people attended the event.
The group is also planning a dinner and dance on October 16 at the Memorial Hall in Holsworthy, to which anyone who has ever been involved with Holsworthy Scouting is invited.
