Holsworthy Rotary Club's annual Musical Extravaganza was held at HATS Theatre on Thursday and Friday evening, March 26 and 27. An impressive array of local talent was on show. Three bands performed — the 'Embers' from the community college, the Town Band and the Rotary's own jazz band. Other talented local musicians featured were Alice Hudson (clarinet), Ronan Perrett (saxophone), folk duo and accordionists 'The Orchards', and David Robinson (piano). Members of HATS performed a selection of songs from 'The Sound of Music', there was a quartet of Can-Can dancers and Liz and David Jones entertained in their own inimitable way. There was also plenty of comedy and magic too from Marvo the Magician and a 'Dad's Army' sketch, scripted by Ian Chouffot. Over the past six years Holsworthy Rotary Club has raised over £13,500 for local charities and organisations by putting on an annual variety concert. This year they raised just under £2,000.
