A CHILSWORTHY resident has expressed his concern regarding a controversial proposal to close Trewyn Road, Holsworthy, which has been the topic of conversation of many in the town and the surrounding area.

The proposal to close the road for ten weeks, commencing May 31 until August 5, is felt to be necessary for the development on the Holsworthy old showground site.

Howard Ratledge, who is also a nominee for Holsworthy on Torridge District Council, feels a petition should be set up against the concept.

He commented: "I am very concerned about the coming closure of Trewyn Road into Holsworthy as this road carries a substantial amount of local traffic from villages and hamlets which use this route.
