MEMBERS of Holsworthy Royal British Legion (RBL) visited Holsworthy Community College on Thursday, July 14, to see the exhibition on The Somme and The Devonshire Regiment.

The exhibition will run until November 15, with access open to the public, for information on the opening times those wishing to attend are advised to contact the college.

The students have been studying for the exhibition through different subjects and linking their classes in with it, the subjects included, History, Langauges, English, Art and Music.

On Tuesday, a ‘Summer Concert’ was held, including music from World War One. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Royal British Legion.

Members of the Holsworthy RBL said their visit to see the exhibition and display put on at the college was well worth it, adding that a lot of work had gone into it.

Ron Gerry said: “The students have worked very hard and put in a lot of thought and effort.”

Mike Johns said: “The hand drawings are particularly well done and detailed.”

John Bowman added: “I am amazed they have done so well.”
