A HOLSWORTHY pub is appealing for two volunteers to witness a world record attempt this Easter.
The White Hart is joining thousands of other pubs across the UK as they try to break the world's biggest toast in honour of Britain's national drink, cask ale, at 7pm on Saturday, April 11.
The landmark event is part of a week-long festival, National Cask Ale Week, which is taking place from April 6 to 13.
Landlord of the White Hart, Jon Hutchings said: "We are great supporters of cask ale and are looking forward to celebrating it during National Cask Ale Week with a host of events. Going for the World's Biggest Toast is a fun way to get the people of Holsworthy supporting their local at the same time as rallying behind Britain's national drink.
"It is a fresh product containing live yeast and bursting with character and flavour: it's what makes the pub unique — and there will plenty of people willing to drink to that!
"In order to make the world record official we need two witnesses and as many people as possible to visit our pub on Saturday, April 11 to show their support for cask ale."
Witnesses need to be over 18 years old and to be at the White Hart at 7pm on Saturday, April 11. To register your interest to be a witness for National Cask Ale Week's, World's Biggest Toast, visit http://www.caskaleweek.com">www.caskaleweek.com.
