A SIX-year-old who attends Holsworthy Primary School has braved the chop and cut off and donated 12 inches of her hair to charity.

Arabella decided to donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust after seeing someone on the television doing the same thing.

Emma Long, Arabella’s mother, told the Post: “She wanted to donate 12 inches and after I spoke to her about having her hair cut off and what a big deal it was. Arabella turned to me and said ‘I just want to make the children happy, and don’t worry it will grow back’.”

A JustGiving page was then created, and Bude Netball Club organised a cake sale too, with help from Arabella’s auntie Nicole. Arabella’s school have also been very supported of her sponsored haircut.  Emma added: “We are all so proud of her.”

On her JustGiving page Arabella adds: “My name is Arabella and I am 6 years old and I am having my haircut so I can donate it to the little princess trust. I wanted to have my hair donated so that I could make a child happy and confident again. I have lots of hair and I thought a child could use some of my hair to have a beautiful wig made. Please sponsor me if you can as wigs are expensive to make.”

So far Arabella has raised an incredible £460 through her JustGiving page, to help her reach her target visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/arabella-long22
