WHILE it might seem like only yesterday that we were enjoying a whole day of hot sunny weather and going en-masse to the beach, the reality is that as the nights come in, it must mean that Christmas is approaching.

One of the most special places to get into the festive spirit is Holsworthy, which is preparing for what could be its most spectacular Christmas light switch on yet.

So much so, that not only will Santa himself be making a special early appearance, there will be everything from stilt walkers, a bucking reindeer and a vast menagerie of free kids rides, face painting and a chance to witness the magical snow globe to get a family photo with a difference.

It promises to be an event to get even the hardiest of grinches into the festive mood.

Taking place on Saturday, November 29 2025, from 4pm to 8pm in the heart of Holsworthy Square, this festive extravaganza promises to bring Christmas cheer to all. Whether you’re a local resident or visiting for the first time, this event is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season with friends and family.

“Enjoy the enchanting performances of stilt walkers as they gracefully move through the square and take a thrilling ride on our bucking reindeer! Children can meet Santa Claus, who will be handing out gifts, while little ones can delight in free kids’ rides and get their faces painted in festive designs.
