HOLSWORTHY Police Station has just published the first issue of what is intended to be an approximately monthly Neighbourhood policing letter. It is in two editions, one for the town and one for the rural district and is available from the library, the Health Centre as well as the police station.

It includes news on the latest reported crimes and incidents in the area, seasonal crime prevention advice and the three neighbourhood PACT priorities: youth issues, property damage and speeding and nuisance driving.

The next PACT meeting in the town will be at 7pm on Wednesday, February 3, at the Town Council Meeting in the Market Hall. All members of the community are welcome. There will also be a Devon and Cornwall Police Authority Liaison Meeting in the Market Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday February 17.

With the support of local organisations the Holsworthy Beat Team will launch its J9 Project in Bodmin St Methodist school-room on Wednesday February 23. This is a campaign to stop domestic violence and provide help for victims.

The Beat Team is looking for a student aged 16-18 to help design and update their web page on the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary site. It is a volunteer position, ideal for someone interested in a career in the Police or just a 'whiz' on the computer.

It will require just a few hours each month working at Holsworthy Police Station. Anyone interested should email [email protected]">[email protected]
