JANE Wells, Holsworthy medical practice's business partner, told a meeting of the Patient Group on Wednesday, May 30, that despite recent Department of Health legislation requiring practices to expand their boundaries, they would be putting their case to the Primary Care Trust (PCT) to be left to focus on Holsworthy patients, writes Christine Williams.

Until now a patient has needed to reside within a practice boundary in order to register there but the new legislation would allow patients who move out of a GP area to stay registered there.

Mrs Wells said they already covered an area of 250 square miles and did not wish to encroach on practices at Bradworthy, Black Torrington and Shebbear.
