CLLR Elizabeth Squire was elected as Mayor of Holsworthy for 2009/10 at a meeting of the town council on Wednesday, May 6.
Cllr Richard Kennedy nominated Cllr Squire, who previously held the position from 2006 to 2008. Cllr Becky Buckingham seconded the proposal and councillors voted in favour.
The retiring Mayor, Cllr David Smith, handed over the Mayor's chain before Cllr Squire read and signed the 'Declaration of Acceptance of Office'.
Cllr Desmond Jose nominated Cllr Buckingham to remain as Deputy Mayor, which was seconded by Cllr Brian Harris. Councillors voted in favour of the proposal.
