In an effort to promote local businesses and to get people to support their community by buying local the Holsworthy Chamber of Trade has launched a discount card which is available to both residents and visitors.

Known as the 'Holscard', it will offer discounts and special offers at various participating businesses and shops throughout the town. Card holders will be kept in touch and updated on the latest discounts available and at which businesses via a quarterly mail drop, their website (http://www.visithols­worthy.co.uk">www.visithols­worthy.co.uk) and posters in members' shop windows.

Cards are available from the Holsworthy Informa­tion Centre on completion of a registration form.

In conjunction with Kenetic Designs the Chamber of Trade has also just published a 32 page quick reference booklet of local businesses and services which they hope will reach 10,000 homes in the area and can be obtained free of charge from the Information Centre, the library and in various shops. They are also being distributed with the Town Newsletter.

The booklet has been attractively produced with a pictorial map of the town by Andrew Spence and contains information on local organisations and lists of useful telephone numbers.
