A CHEQUE for £900 was donated to Ovacome by Lion Brian Withall recently following a successful ‘Easter Egg Draw’.

Lion, Brian Withall of Holsworthy & District Lions Club travelled up to London to present the cheque for £900 to Lee Priestly of Ovacome the Ovarian Cancer Charity at their head office in the city.

Brian said: “It was at my request that we raised money for Ovacome as my late wife passed away through ovarian cancer some 18 years ago and my youngest daughter was running the London Marathon in aid of Overcome.

“The money was solely raised through the Easter Egg Draw which was for Ovacome and Lions Charities and was divided half and half.”

Brian said it was thanks to the community this impressive amount was raised and he wished to express his thanks to all those who supported the Lions’ fundraising efforts: “I think the local population did us very proud and it just shows how much they support Holsworthy & District Lions and good causes.”
