DESPITE being without the suspended Ian Rowe, Holsworthy travelled to Plymouth Parkway full of confidence after two straight wins.

But an injury to Gavin Cornish soon after the start of this Premier division match unsettled them.

Parkway made Holsworthy work hard, playing some lovely one-touch football and after they took the lead through Lee Doel after 20 minutes.

Ten minutes later it was 2-0 with Paul Baker scoring from close range. Holsworthy struggled to close the gap between defence and midfield, allowing Parkway far too much room.

Three minutes into the second-half they were a further goal behind after a poor decision by the linesman gave the offside-looking Chris Wright the chance to score.

A few weeks ago Holsworthy would have buckled but no longer. They rolled up their sleeves and took the game to Parkway only to be caught on the break after 75 minutes with another goal from Matthews.

Holsworthy, who missed two very good chances in the second-half, were rewarded for their efforts with a penalty ten minutes from time, tucked away by Lee Rundle.

Beaten by a better team on the day but overall Holsworthy now have a team that can compete with the best and, hopefully, beat some of the rest.
